Who is behind it 2: William Robert Bontine Cunninghame Graham of Gartmore

Fancy knowing their real identities? There are two persons behind the disreputable website:

2. W R B Cunninghame Graham of Gartmore

Well, his name is certainly a mouthful - and you can see for yourself what a laidback and relaxed sort of fellow he is. Mr Graham, an expat apparently working as some kind of teacher in Spain, is quite indignant that his family have lost their baron title to Professor Thomas MacKay, despite, as he righteously points out, "my still owning more of the original estate than he does" (in his rather lenghy article here: http://www.scots-titles.com/fake-lairds-lords/the-ludicrous-"scottish-laird"-scams). However, he has found some consolation in creating a petition to have him instated as Chief of the Clan Cunningham (link here) - it's hilarous reading. Mr Graham is a descendant of Robert the Bruce, if you must know. We're sure that people are waiting in hoards and sleeping in tents in order to sign up...

No wonder then, that Mr Graham feels the need to hold on to what ever is left of his feudal dignity, and sadly the only title left for him to use is the 'laird' title, so you can imagine he is not happy about souvenir plot lairds cheating him out of its exclusivity.

Other trivia:
  • Mr Graham's family used to own the great Finlaystone House until the late 1800s, but were forced to give it up due to debts and a flamboyant lifestyle.

  • His wife's family is the only family in Spain who are allowed to cut a suckling pig with a plate. The right was granted by a previous King of Spain. Fancy that. We fully understand the need to point out that important piece of information on their wedding website...

Since Mr Duncan has fled the co-op at Scots-titles.com it appears that Mr Graham is holding the fort alone, which means he now at the very least carries co-editorial responsibility for all what is published there.

So please remember, peeps: If your name, photo or similar has been published on the Scots-titles.com website, you should report Mr Duncan and Mr Graham to the police for public defamation and publishing private information about you without your permission. You should also sue them for whatever little money they have. The pair of them carry full editorial responsibility for the defamatory comments in the comment threads on their website and will have to answer to the law for that as well (although they have been wise enough to delete some of the most injurious comments).
